There’s something about food that makes me nostalgic. There are many foods that remind me of my childhood, the holidays, an overseas vacation, or a night camped out under the stars. I can’t eat a bowl of Carbonara without envisioning myself sitting at an outdoor restaurant back in Rome or a slice of coconut cake without remembering the holidays I’ve spent with my family at my grandparents’ house in Las Vegas. For this reason food will always hold a very special place in my heart, though that’s not all that’s amazing about food… Food is a sensory filled experience in and of its self! Preparing it, sharing it, and eating it. There’s something magical and artful about food… cultures and nations of people throughout history have devoted their lives and energy to food. Sure we need it to live, but great food feeds our souls and triggers our memories. It can change your mood, bring people together, and nourish your body all at the same time! Isn’t that amazing?
